Honda recall: 1.2 million Accords face fire risk from faulty batter sensors

The recall covers more than 1.5 million cars worldwide. The company has a market capitalization of $49.53 billion, a price-to-earnings ratio of 9.00 and a beta of 1.01.

That compares to 188 sales in the same month last year.

On the mechanical side, 2018 Accord buyers can choose from three powertrains, all driving the front wheels. The 1.5-liter engine comes in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring while the 2.0-liter comes in Sport, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring. I have some great memories of my own.

The Accord will offer a number of trim levels - six for the 1.5-liter version, four for the 2-liter version and five for the hybrid. You want to hear about Accord's future. A six-speed manual is available on Sport variants but most models will come with a new 10-speed automatic transmission. The firm had revenue of $3,763.40 billion for the quarter, compared to analyst estimates of $3,670.98 billion. In-car 4G LTE Wi-Fi, wireless updates for the infotainment system, telematics services such as stolen vehicle tracking, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, larger screens, and a head-up display are all available. Road salt can enter inside and result in corrosion.

Pricing and specific trim equipment information will be available closer to launch this fall, but expect the 2018 Honda Accord to hit dealers this quarter. American Century Companies Inc. now owns 4,126,146 shares of the company's stock worth $124,857,000 after buying an additional 245,350 shares during the last quarter.

Honda reveals its 10-generation Accord here, saying it has gone back to its "classic design principles" for its biggest, most technology-laden midsize sedan yet.

Of course, our story is much more than just styling.

Honda says it will notify Accord owners impacted by the recall before July 31.

Four cases of engine compartment fires due to the battery sensor-related problem have been reported to Honda. In that sense it's a bit like a Koenigsegg, but only kind of. With standard adaptive dampers, a choice of punchy four-cylinder engines, and a six-speed manual, at least on paper, this new Accord stands out from the pack and could well get Honda a bigger chunk of a still-considerable pie. That, in turn, heightens the likelihood of engine fires.

A lighter and more rigid body structure. The 10th-gen Accord follows one of the most successful iterations of Honda's midsize sedan ever. With a redesigned Camry already revealed (and driven) for 2018, the all-around fun-to-drive Mazda 6, value-oriented Hyundai Sonata and stylish Kia Optima, Honda has a lot of work cut out for it amongst an incresingly competitive set.

The designers actually sought to make the FWD car look more like a rear-wheel-driver, while working with designers in California to fine-tune the creases, LED lighting, and wider and 2.16 inch longer wheelbase, taking it beyond the midsized class.
