'I'm not looking for sympathy', says Antonio Conte regarding Chelsea's squad size

Leicester's Danny Drinkwater, Everton's Ross Barkley and Valencia's Joao Cancelo are among the stars to have been linked lately with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted that losing Nemanja Matic to Manchester United this summer is a 'great loss'. Having bedded in during their respective first seasons, neither can afford to slip up after a close-season in which both invested heavily.

But Lampard believes the 24-year-old's determination to force his way out of a comfortable situation in the Spanish capital is a good sign. "I'm very happy because the players are working well and hard and are trying to improve".

The Clarets' squad remained pretty much the same as last year - they've sold just two players, Michael Keane to Everton and Andre Gray to Watford (and earned €50m), while Jack Cork from Swansea and Jonathan Walters from Stoke City signed for Burnley. At the very least there should be numerous scoring opportunities available as West Brom have an implied goal total of 1.35, and Rondon has better odds to score than Kevin De Bruyne and Wilfried Zaha.

It has been just over three months since Antonio Conte completed Chelsea's turnaround from finishing 10th in the 2015/16 campaign to be crowned champions in the 2016/17 season and now Premier League is back again for its 25th edition.

Chelsea are unbeaten in the past six meetings with Burnley, all of which came in the Premier League (W4, D2).

Conte, though, insisted he endorses Chelsea's decision to loan out emerging talent and would not get drawn into a debate about the club's level of success with transfers.

When pressed about transfers and the positions in need of cover at Chelsea, Conte said: "I have already answered this question, I don't like to speak about this and send messages to the press".

"And they need to get in another two or three players, I think, to have a chance of retaining that title". Chelsea are the largest home favorite as goal and a half favorites over Burnley. As a Chelsea fan you're always going to want more: 'Can we buy the best players? "They have Koeman, he for me is a good coach, and a good club". For this reason we have to pay great attention every game, to have the right approach, to have the right intensity.

Whilst Premier League teams have no problems attracting quality players, it is now time for them to upgrade their tactics.

"There's still a level this club operates to".

Manchester United have spent the biggest transfer fee this summer so far after signing Romelu Lukaku in a £75m deal from Everton following Victor Lindelof's arrival from Benfica. But the Gunners will take a significant step back if they lose the world-class Alexei Sanchez before the transfer window slams shut.

Sean Dyche's side showed what a gritty prospect they can be last season, albeit mainly at home, and they would love nothing more than to spring a shock on the opening weekend.
