Samsung Galaxy Note 8 manages 2.5 lakh pre-orders in India

The company noted that more customers in the US have pre-ordered the Note 8 than any other Note series handset sold in the previous years. Do you think the Galaxy Note 8 will be able to outsell Apple's iPhone 8?

Nearly 1.5 lakh people have registered on Amazon, with 72,000 pre-booking the flagship device on the very first day when the registrations were open last weekend.

Taking a razor blade to the iris scanner, front-facing camera, and earpiece on the device, it held up well.

Several reviewers have also pointed out that the Note 8 retains the same drawback as the S8 and S8 Plus by locating the fingerprint security sensor on the back of the device alongside the dual cameras.

Consumers can snag an unlocked Galaxy Note 8 directly from Samsung, starting at $929.99 (or $38.75 per month for 24 months). The phone sports a 6.3-inch FullVision Quad HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 2960. It comes with the 6GB of RAM. You will see the dual cameras and the small metal ring around it. The latter protects the camera lens so it's safer. The Note 8 extends that to full sentences, though it's on you to figure out that you have to tap the "T" icon to switch modes. The smartphone comes bundled with S-Pen specific productivity tools that any other flagship smartphone lacks.

A screen-off memo feature lets you use the stylus to take notes without having to unlock the phone.

When you are in Live Focus mode, the Dual capture mode saves two images for every click. YouTube channel JerryRigEverything gave some serious torture to the handset, and you will be pleased to know that overall, the phone performed rather well. The phone was announced by the company on the 23rd of August and it goes on sale on the 15th of September. The innards are almost the same with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC or Exynos 8895 SoC ticking under the hood. Samsung shrunk the bezels, removed the home button, and made the screen taller and skinnier.

Next, the actual good news: the components that Note 8 users will most likely need to replace over the course of their ownership of the device - the headphone jack and USB-C port - are all modular, and can be replaced independently of one another.
