Nokia 2 specs leaks on AnTuTu, Snapdragon 212 spotted

The Nokia 2 will be available in Pewter/Black, Pewter/White, and Copper/Black for a global average retail price of €99. HMD Global emphasised time and again about the importance of connecting its smartphones to people on an experience level rather than a spec-sheet.

The polycarbonate back gives away a smudgy finish after using it for a while, especially the dark colours. Just like the previous Nokia devices, the Nokia 2 didn't flinch. It's not a crawl as many ignorantly expect as soon as they look at the specifications.

It has the potential for sure. No doubt, it's got some good industrial design thought put into it. The company says it's milled from a single block of series 6,000 aluminium. The display is covered with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection against nicks and scratches. At a makeshift conference space at the Sector 55-56 metro station, Gurgaon, Chief Product officer Joho launched the Nokia 2 phone.

Nokia 2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, and it's the stock Android, meaning it has a pure Android feel to it. That means it doesn't come with a third-party apps loaded in the device. However, there is no fingerprint scanner on board, unfortunately. It also supports Google Assistant. It also supports gestures such as double-clicking the power button to activate the camera from any screen as well as from the sleep mode. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. This is paired with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage. Storage is expandable using a microSD card slot. The chipset offers LTE connectivity with an entry-level price tag.

One of the most prolific smartphone concept designers, known as Concept Creator, has brought out a smartphone they refer to as the Nokia 9 Edge. This would approximately be Rs 6500 to Rs 9700. There's an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP shooter in the front. We are not yet sure of the pixel size or the aperture on the lens of the cameras. That, and battery life, especially if electricity is a problem. It comes with a non-removable 4100 mAh battery. I will have to of course test the claims with regards to the battery life when actually reviewing the device.
